CORSAIR M65 RGB ELITE Tunable FPS Gaming Mouse Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2019-01-18

Being built with the same high-end sensor as we have seen with the IRONCLAW RGB, with a resolution up to 18000 DPI, adjustable in 1 DPI increments, the M65 RGB Elite tracks wonderfully, especially after it has passed the calibration stage. While it feels about the same in hand as the previous M65 iteration, the fact that the Sniper and the thumb side buttons are brought closer together was a good design choice, since you can access these faster. CORSAIR has also made sure to optimize in order to make the chassis lighter, while the customizable weighting system has been retained.

A Closer Look Part II

With the new M65 revision, the Sniper button is larger and brought much closer to the other two programmable buttons, which improves access time to it; another design difference is the exposed aluminum frame to the front:

Near the RGB-enabled, rubberized scroll wheel, we do have two more buttons, for DPI selection (can be remapped later). The left and right click buttons are equipped with Omron switches, rated for more than 50 million actuations:

A look in the front does reveal the shape of the underneath aluminum core, that reinforces the overall design:

The right side panel does not offer any more buttons, but only a grippy plastic texture:

For the black version of the mouse, we no longer have a black anodized aluminum core, but remains with its standard color; here we can spot the three weight compartments, but also the central optical sensor lens:

The weight system can be accessed the same as before, on the original M65:
