Linksys WRT3200ACM AC3200 MU-MIMO Gigabit Wi-Fi Router Review

Others/Networking Gear by stefan @ 2016-12-26

Linksys WRT3200ACM is a high-performance router sporting the AC3200 standard, supports bandwidths up to 160MHz on the AC band, MU-MIMO for streaming data to multiple devices at once and packs a powerful 1.8GHz dual-core processor. By connecting a storage device to it, we can easily transform the router into an entry-level NAS, the read/write speeds being surprisingly good for a device of this type.

A Closer Look Part III

The chassis of the WRT3200ACM router is featuring a lot of ventilation holes, so the internal components will not get damaged on the long-run due to excessive heat:

The frontal panel of the router does sport a futuristic shape and this is also the area where the status LEDs are located. We do have a Power/Boot Status LED, a WAN(Internet) LED, one 2.4GHz band LED and also one 5GHz band LED, an eSATA LED, an USB Port 1 LED, an USB Port 2 LED, one separate LED for each LAN interface (four are available), but also a WPS LED:

On the left side we will get to see one gold-plated antenna port:

The right side area is identical:

Most of the interfaces can be spotted though on the back side; here we have the last two antenna ports, a blue WPS button, the LAN ports, one Internet (WAN) port, an USB 3.0 port (USB 2), an USB 2.0/eSATA combo port (USB 1), a Reset button, the DC-IN 12V port, but also an On/Off button:

The bottom area of the router does hold even more ventilation holes, while on the sides we can see large feet which do sport rubber tips; on the blue area, the manufacturer has also placed some information regarding the product serial number, MAC address, but also initial Wi-Fi login details:

After attaching the supplied antennas, we are good to go!
