OUKITEL U10 Smartphone Review

Mobile/Smart Phones by stefan @ 2015-08-28

OUKITEL has impressed us with the release of the new U10 model, with features a 5.5’’ Full-HD JDI screen, one of the latest MTK 64-bit SoCs, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, dual-SIM capabilities but also a good Samsung 3M2 13MP CMOS sensor, which is able to produce good quality photos. The manufacturer has adopted a modern design with 2.5D curved glass while on the back we will find a super-thin metal alloy chassis so the phone does have a thickness of only 7.9mm, with the expense of a non-removable battery. The SIM tray can be ejected thanks to the included pin and supports multiple configurations: SIM+SIM or SIM+TF card for storage expansion.

OUKITEL U10 comes with a pre-applied plastic screen protector, so the only thing we need to do is to remove the upper layer:

This particular smartphone sports a 2.5D curved glass and a 5.5’’ JDI display with very good digitizer responsiveness:

On the top we’ve got the very handy notification LED, the proximity sensor, the speaker but also the 5MP selfie camera sensor:

The bottom area of the screen is an interesting subject of discussion; in the initial press shots, the Menu, Home and Back buttons were LED lighted but it seems that in its final form the smartphone is missing these features; we think that this is only a software issue, the LEDs should be there underneath and an OTA update should fix this:

OUKITEL U10 is quite thin, only 7.9mm at the expense of a non-removable battery:

On the left side of the terminal we would be able to spot the SIM tray:
