The Shuttle DS437 Barebone comes with an updated Celeron 1037 CPU at 1.8GHz which has the same 17W power envelope as the 847 model and also features better IGP. The unit is completely fanless and offers plenty of ports to be used in multiple environments like POS, Kiosk, Thin Client, Cloud Computing, Office PC and more.

A Closer Look Part II

We also get mounting instructions for the supplied VESA mount:

 

 

 

The Shuttle DS437 Barebone resembles the footprint of an external 5.25’’ optical drive and has an all-black chassis design; in the middle of the top cover we will find the company logo:

 

 

 

On the small black sticker we will find details regarding the product model number, but also the power rating:

 

 

 

The chassis does not feature active ventilation capabilities, but it is all passive for zero-noise. On the laterals we have ventilation grills which will permit evacuation of hot air coming from the internal components. The right side also features a Kensington lock port :

 

 

 

 

On the frontal side of the case we have four USB 2.0 ports, the Power LED indicator, one HDD LED indicator, the On/Off button, two COM (Serial) ports but also a SD Card Reader:

 

 

 

On the back we will get to see a pin connector for external power, the DVI-I video port, one HDMI video port, microphone and headphone jacks, two USB 3.0 ports, 2xRJ45 Gigabit LAN ports but also the DC-IN connector:

 

 

 

The VESA mount is preinstalled on the unit with four screws on the sides:

 

 

 

As expected, it can be removed in a couple of minutes if we decide to sit the computer on the dock with the provided feet. For easy servicing, Shuttle has built the chassis with two separate covers:
