Shuttle Barebone DS437 Fanless Slim PC with Celeron CPU Review

The Shuttle DS437 Barebone comes with an updated Celeron 1037 CPU at 1.8GHz which has the same 17W power envelope as the 847 model and also features better IGP. The unit is completely fanless and offers plenty of ports to be used in multiple environments like POS, Kiosk, Thin Client, Cloud Computing, Office PC and more.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

In this article we will look upon another interesting product from Shuttle, which is in fact a fully-featured PC of really small dimensions (1.3 litre metal chassis), with plenty of connectivity options and at its core we will find the Intel Celeron CPU 1037U (Ivy Bridge core) at 1.8GHz. The product comes packed inside a medium-sized cardboard box with a simple box art and on one of the sides we will get to see a sticker with the technical specifications in more detail:

 

 

 

 

The manufacturer has carefully included lots of protective foam inside to avoid scratches during transport and the rest of the bundle is located in a separate enclosure:

 

 

 

 

As accessories we can enumerate the power brick, the power lead, the two components of the dock, screws but also the driver disk:

 

 

 

The power brick is also of medium size, has an activity LED and was manufactured by Asian Power Devices Inc (output 19V, 3.42A):
