Mercury Q7 is the large 6.5’’ smartphone from iconBIT, which sports a Cortex A7 MTK-6589 Turbo processor clocked at 1.5GHz, PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU, 1GB of DDR3 memory, 8GB of NAND Flash for applications (with expansion up to 32GB via microSDHC) and a 13MP camera. The offered Android revision is 4.2.1 and for having longer standby times the manufacturer has also packed a large 2800mAh Li-ion battery.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

In this review we will look upon a quite interesting product, which can be placed between a phone and a tablet when judging by its size. The packaging in which the Mercury Q7 is shipped comes fully sealed:

 

 

 

The box-art is similar to the one we have seen at previous products from iconBIT, and it shows a photo of the product in operation along with some discrete icons which illustrate the main product highlights:

After lifting the top cover of the box, we will find the Q7 sitting in the middle, also wrapped inside a semi-transparent plastic cover:

The black earphones have an in-line remote and connect with the jack plug to the phone:

 

 

 

 

 

The power adapter has an USB connector so we can use the supplied cable for both charging and data transfer purposes; on the output the adapter is rated DC 5V, 1A:
