The FC8 Evo case from Streacom has a very clean, professional look and is ideal for people which want absolute silence when working at their PC. The installation instructions are explained with both photos and text and if we are patient, there should be no issues. Also, there are plenty of additional accessories that can be bought from them like the slot-loading optical drive, USB 3.0 cable or IR sensor + remote.

A Closer Look Part III

The rest of the accessories are to be found in a separate plastic bag:

 

 

 

Besides the screws, which are a lot, we will also get two tubes of thermal compound, four heatpipes, HDD/ODD rubber, and more:

 

 

 

The metallic frame can hold on the bottom either one 3.5’’ HDD or a 2.5’’ HDD and on the top we can attach a single 2.5’’ HDD and also the optical drive:

 

 

 

On the back of the power button we have a small PCB with contacts that will be routed to the motherboard:

 

 

 

Also, the USB ports are also placed on a separate PCB; with the case we only get the USB 2.0 connectivity cables and the USB 3.0 cable must be acquired separately:

 

 

 

Inside the case we get plenty of space to work with and the motherboard standoffs are preinstalled:

 

 

 

 

Streacom instructs us to begin the installation by attaching the motherboards’ I/O Shield:

 

 

 

 

Then, we will turn the motherboard on the back and install the four mounting nuts with adhesive:
