AeroCool Touch-2100 Fan Controller Review

Others/Miscelleneous by stefan @ 2013-06-05

The Touch-2100 Fan Controller from AeroCool comes with a responsive multi-colored display and 5 separate channels, from where we can fine-tune the fan speeds or adjust the alarm temperature for the thermistors. Each thermal probe can be attached to the surfaces of our choice with the help of the included adhesive and in case one of these fail, we always have replacements inside the accessory bag.

The PCB is not overcrowded to avoid overheating of the components:

On the bottom left side we have the headers with the preinstalled thermistors:

The upper left side has the power header and one small buzzer:

The USB 3.0 connectors along with the microphone/speaker headers are located on a smaller, separate PCB:

The right side of the PCB is occupied by the fan channels, with three headers on top and two on the bottom:

Since the frontal side of the controller is made from black brushed aluminum, it integrates perfectly in cases which sport the same design as the ATCS 840 (discontinued). The USB ports are placed at a fair distance from one another, which is a positive thing. Right after powering up our PC, the display lights up and on the left side we also have the buttons that we will use to control the device:
