Sitecom has reinvented itself with a new look on both the website and the products. Their latest X6 N900 WLR-6100 is a dual-band router with 450Mbps rating on both frequencies, which also sports SCS (Sitecom Cloud Security) subscription free for the first six months, but also multiple mounting possibilities and two USB 2.0 ports for connecting printers and storage devices.

A Closer Look Part II

On the bottom side we’ll find multiple white rubber feet which help when the router sits on the table:

 

 

 

 

The power adapter was manufactured by DVE and is rated on the output 12V, 2A:

 

 

 

The other end of the adapter ends with a jack plug:

 

 

 

The router comes with a clean, professional design and is covered on the both sides with a transparent plastic film for avoiding scratches during transport:

 

 

 

On the lower side we can find the Sitecom logo again:

 

 

 

The activity LEDs can be found on the right side (most of the routers we have tested so far and were also designed to sit vertically had the LEDs placed on the left) and signal activity for the WAN interface, the 4 LAN ports, the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networks, Power and OPS function:

 

 

 

On the bottom we will find the predefined 2.4GHz and 5GHz network names and passwords, along with the router MAC address and serial number:

 

 

 

Also here we will also locate the dock mounting areas:

does it pass the custom firmware test? Tomato, DDR-WRT or other?

The router is a bit too new and haven't seen so far the model listed on the custom firmware websites.
