The new F3 Series of SSDs from KingFast incorporate the well-known SandForce SF-2281VB1 controller and are well tuned for achieving high read/write performances. For added value, the SSDs are also shipped with a 2.5’’ to 3.5’’ adapter, fixing screws and a short SATA cable to get the installation done in a couple of minutes.

A Closer Look Contd.

The back side of the SSD is plain and here we will also find the 4 fixing screws:

 

 

 

 

On the lateral side we can find some warranty stickers, which will become void if damaged:

 

 

 

Here is how the SSD does look after the 4 screws have been removed:

 

 

 

The SandForce SSD controller is to be found on the left and on the right we’ll locate 8 NAND Flash chips:

 

 

 

The usage of a SandForce SF-2281VB1 SSD controller eliminates the need of using a separate cache buffer RAM chip and enables a more flexible, compact design. Here is the block diagram:

 

 

 

The NAND Flash is composed from 29F32B08JCME2 chips manufactured by Intel, which have 32GB storage capacity, consisting of four 64-gigabit 25nm dies:

 

 

 

The back side of the PCB we can find the place-holders for the rest of the 8 NAND Flash chips, which are populated when purchasing the 480GB model:
