The AVD3S16001108G-2J is a new upgrade memory kit from AVEXIR for Apple machines, rated CAS11, with the 1600MHz frequency, with a total capacity of 16GB. In this presentation we will compare the performance of the stock Macbook Pro 15'' Unibody 2012 configuration against the upgraded system with the AVEXIR modules.
To test the Apple Memory from Avexir, we have first ran the Geekbench benchmark (64bit) on our Mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15'' which was initially equipped with a 4GB DDR1600 Dual Channel kit from Samsung. The Macbook Pro is also configured with an Intel Core i7-3615QM CPU and during the tests, the OS X version 10.8.1 was installed.
After the memory was replaced with the new kit, we ran the same benchmarks again to see if there are any speed benefits (besides the advantages of having more available memory to OS and applications).
The second benchmark we have used is NovaBench, which tests the system RAM, CPU, Graphics and HDD/SSD speeds:
