Tokyoflash Kisai Seven Limited Edition Watch Review

Others/Miscelleneous by stefan @ 2011-11-21

Tokyoflash has surprised us with another unique watch which became a reality, built after a concept submitted at the Tokyoflash Design Studio Blog, by Scott Galloway and was inspired by one of its favorite movies, TRON. The central display resembles an "Identity Disk" and can be animated in three different modes. The battery inside can be recharged via USB and it can last up to one month on one charge, if the animation modes are not selected.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

Before starting the presentation, it is necessary to mention that the Kisai Seven watch was built after a concept submitted at the Tokyoflash Design Studio Blog, by Scott Galloway and was inspired by one of its favorite movies, TRON. The watch project was initially named 7RON and was voted as one of the most popular designs by the fans. This is the third concept which was submitted by a fan which has become a reality.

The product was shipped inside a plain small cardboard box, sealed for more security with duct tape:

Inside the outer box, meant only for protection, we can find the actual product box, which houses the Kisai and Tokyoflash logos on the frontal side, along with a golden dragon:

Other interesting photos are located on the sides of the box:

Tokyoflash tells us that with their watches, we can "change the way we think about time":

Attention to detail can be observed inside the box too, with the two box flaps which have artwork on them:

After removing the documentation, we can find the watch sitting inside a protective sponge:

Besides the main product, inside the box we can also find a screw driver, one small screw, the manual and the charging cable:

The supplied screwdriver is for removing the charging port protection from the watch (which is another screw), and the extra small screw is offered in case we lose the original one:

The white charging cable has on one end the USB connector and on the other a jack plug-like connector:

The manual contains instructions in both English and Japanese, can be found on the website too in electronic PDF format and lets us know how to read the time, how to set the time and animation feature, how to turn the animation on and off, how to charge the battery, how to adjust the strap and some extra information:
