The Wireless Network Dual Band 300N Gaming Adapter II from Sitecom is a product with decent performances and comes with a detailed software application that shows us details regarding the live wireless connection. Besides the normal configuration, we can also modify the WMM and WPS configurations.

The Software Interface

Before plugging in the Wireless USB adapter in a spare port, I went and downloaded the latest drivers available on the Sitecom website:

The installer allows us to choose installing the driver along with the Sitecom WLAN Utility or only the driver itself:

After the installation is complete, we can plug in the adapter in a spare USB port; Windows will install the drivers and confirm:

The WLAN Utility that comes with the device provides a lot of information and it is split into multiple tabs; in the Profile Tab we can define, edit, delete, import, export or activate wireless network profiles, see their details in the right side. There is also additional information which we can roll down by pressing the button located in the lower right corner of the application; here we can see lots of details regarding the live connection, but also a Transmit/Receive graph:

The Network Tab is the place where the detected wireless networks are shown and also here we can connect to them by supplying the extra needed credentials; we can also use the button “Add to Profile” which defines a new profile with the current settings:

In the Advanced tab, we can select the wireless mode in which we want the adapter to function, along with some extra options like TX Burst, TCP Window Size or Fast Roaming:

In the Statistics tab, we can see the total transmitted or received frames, with or without errors:

The WMM (Wi-Fi Multimedia) technology allows us to maintain the priority of audio, video and voice applications in a Wi-Fi network, so that other running applications are less likely to slow them:

In the WPS menu, we can connect to the router if it also supports the technology, by entering the required information:

In the About tab, we can find information regarding the software, driver, firmware or EEPROM versions; here we can also see the MAC (Phy_Address) of the device:
