When it comes to PC cooling Zalman has a great name. Being one of the first who introduced heatpipes into VGA cooling, it was an immediate hit. But when the competition started using this same technology for CPU heatsinks, Zalman´s own CPU coolers were falling behind. Now, a bit late perhaps, we have Zalman´s first heatpipe based CPU cooler. The Zalman CNPS9500 Led. Let´s see how it does against the best out there; the Scythe Shogun and Thermalright XP-90C are waiting…

You got the nameof 1 of the reference HS a bit wrong in the review i think. The Thermaltake XP-90C doesnt exist, it's the THERMALRIGHT.

crappy fan leads to crappy noise performance ratings, which is laughable at that price

You can't measure the GLL fan at low, not even at high it's above background noise. It's pointless running it on low.

Conclusion should say, I wouldn't recommend this HSF since there are better out.

for a retail plug & play solution it's quite good value for money, at low fan setting (which you can set out of the box with the included fan controller) it's as silent as the Papst 120mm fan, and cools your CPU a lot better then default AMD/Intel cooler without the noise:)

It hasn't duelled the Freezer PRO yet =P


Don't you still have the regular Freezer for a compare?

I did not do the review, and also there were quite a bit of comparable HSF tested alongside this one, don't you think? :)

VapoChill Micro, Scythe Ninja & Thermalright XP-90C, show me some other "1 heatsink review" which compares performance then more than 1 heatsink:)

look at the A64 HSF roundup to compare performance of the Freezer to the Ninja & XP-90C to be able to place the Zalman

I just wanted to have an equal compare of ready to use heatsinks as you said for an out of the box working cooler it's good.

it still has a hefty price tag for that performance, twice as much as the Freezer PRO


So if it cannot own a HSF combination for the regular users, and it cannot beat the ones for the diehard users neither in performance nor price, how can it be a good product?.

it's less expensive as the "die-hard" heatsink which are $50 + cost of HQ silent fan ($10-15)
