Thermalright ALX-800 vs his big brother the SP-97 We take a look at Thermalright's budget heatsink, the ALX-800 is compared the their top of the line Socket A cooler, does their little one stand a chance? http://www.madshrimps.be/gotoartik.php?articID=184 |
HOW WILL IT FIT ON MOTHERBOARDS WITH TRANSISTORS CLOSE TO THE SOCKET? |
I'D SAY, TAKE A LOOK AT THIS PAGE http://www.thermalright.com/a_page/m...ard_alx800.htm |
HMM ALL THE OTHER MSI 6570 BORADS ARE MENTIONED BUT NOT MINE (DELTA ILSR) BUT THE LAYOUT AROUND THE CPU SOCKET SHOULD BE THE SAME?RIGHT? |
With a good case design in ventilation the SLK-800 or this ALX-800 with less weight is an ideal solution. Like the AVC 117140 & JMC Phoenix designed three years ago for P4, this heatsink design despite a few years old remains one of the best. They could change clothings and put in new packagings; a good heatsink is one that allows for transportation; ease of installation; easy on the hearing; better than the Free Retail Pack. |

I got yesterday two of these little babies home (got them for a special price, less then 50€ shipping included for both  ). It's true that finishing isn't it's strongest point, but it's still one hell of a heatsink. Now I need to buy the fans which go with it :D Btw, on of the fins has a problem, it's stuck against another fin, closing a gap, fortunately, it's on the end of the heatsink... |
You guys are really paying a lot more than us. I paid $18 +$5 shipping. |
Yup, I know, and I'm glad cos it's a bargain for me :nana: :D Well, I paid 46€ for 2, while you would have paid 46$... Difference has to be checked with currency... But it won't be too much (I hope :wtf: ) |
Oh, my mistake; I didn't read the price was for two units. And, yes, it performs damn well. I'd say the best price to performance ratio. It's the same performance comparing to SLK-800 based on my experience.;) |
