Silverstone SST-ST75ZF 750W Power Supply Review

While Intel and AMD and frantically working to keep power usage down of their recent and upcoming CPUs, we see video card taking the top power gobbling spot, two high end ATI X1900 cards in Crossfire will bring most modest power supplies to their knees. You need a sufficiently powerful unit if you plan to overclock your system, this Silverstone 750W PSU is silent and powerful, but is it enough? Let's find out

i'm kinda curious is this beast doesn't rapidly overheat when under heavy load in summer LAN conditions. the 80mm fan & the cramped contents doesn't really fill me with a lot of confidence under extreme conditions.

I've been strssing it for almost a day in a 33° room with an average load of 550 watt a,d peakes up to more then 600 watt ....

THe psu doesn't get warm at all.

i know piotke, but 33°C is cool for some summer lans. ;-)

but of course for a roomtemp, thats kinda nuts. i only get 28°c tops in my room. (i'm on the sun side all morning, 2 windows, full wall exposed)

33°C room temp != case temp, which will be higher, and not by a small amount if you know there are 2x1900 ATI cards in there:)

i know, but you reach 33°c easy at a summer LAN. badly isolated roof & roofwindows, a few hundred PC's powered on non-stop, lack of wind.

35°c to 40°c ambient temp are no exceptions if it's really hot outside.
