Seasonic Power Angel - Power Monitor Review

I am puzzled by the ever increasing processor power consumption in recent years. Both AMD and Intel are working quite hard lately to reduce power used by their products while new graphic cards are demanding for more. How much power does a home PC draw? Seasonic Power Angel may answer some of the questions

I got myself a small WATT power meter too; from a local Electronics shop at €25.

thanks PIOTKE!

I measured this test system: http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=get...&articID=3 98

A64 3200+ @ 2200Mhz - 1.5v vcore
idle: 67Watt / Load: 125Watt

A64 3200+ @ 2400Mhz - 1.7v vcore
idle: 78Watt / Load: 165Watt

Quote:

Since I’m only using an Athlon 3200+ for my tests, it would be interesting to overclock the CPU so its maximum heat output increases and it can simulate a higher clocked Athlon 64. At default it’s rated at 89W, increasing clock speed to 2400Mhz with 1.7v vcore it’s putting out ~125W according to this little calculator.

the cals shows ~35Watt difference
real world shows 40Watt difference.

not bad now:)

Total system wattage, right?
Using two different power supplies will it show efficiency factor of the two!
