Intel P4 Aircooling - Heatsink Roundup 2004 part I

In this roundup we compare 13 different P4 heatsinks made by Thermalright, Coolermaster, Scythe, Speeze, Swiftech, Evercool, Aerocool and TTIC. Using different fans at low and high speed we try to find the best bang for the buck, best performer and most silent heatsink out there.

The price of SP94 has gone up to over $50.:)
May be copper price has gone up the roof. Timing consuming round up, yet worth the effort ....;)

I was able to find the SP-94 on Froogle for $40-45 in shops; the pricing table is only a guideline, different countries, different shops, different taxes all play a role :)

The over $50 price is in the U.S. and it is a recent price increase. Nice work nevertheless, JMke.:)

WTF, the sp94 is still the best cooler (with lots of noisy) after almost a year :ws:

the Hyper6 will pull by its side when using a Delta fan, check my review of the SP-94 vs the Hyper6 :)

nice jmke! very nice! :super:

i think you should have used two different fans on all of the heatsinks though, a silent heatsink and a tornado or delta high pressure heatsink, to see wich one scales better with high airflow and is best suited for on air ocing :)

but im sure it was a lot of work and it would have made it even more work :D

very nice article!

looks like the xp90 and xp120 are performing very well for their low weight!

and the tower heatsinks are not really worth it yet as they only perfom nicely with very high heatloads like an oced prescott at 150W+ :D

hey Saaya, mounting a delta on a heatsink will make it perform very nicely, temperature difference between the top performing heatsinks now with the high output 80mm Coolink will shrink to mere degrees and half degrees.

I don't know why you'd say that "Tower heatsinks are not really worth it" seeing as the small TTIC NPH-1 ranked quite high and doesn't cost that much..
