Default GEIL PC12800C8TC , first overclocking experience with this CL8 value kit

As a first competitor for our roundup, Golden Empire International Ltd, aka GEIL, sent us one of their brand new triple channel kits. The kit comes with the non-descript GV36GB100C8TC as a product name, but we're here to show you what it's capable of.

The kit is actually launched as a value kit, but you'll soon see that this kit has nothing to do with low-value, as it performed admirably. Of course, don't expect it to be the absolute overclockers dream, it is not targeted at those users, however we did manage to get some decent overclock results, as the screenshots below prove.

We got the following results :

7-7-7-24-1T : 770 Mhz DDR
Attachment 2346

8-8-8-24-1T : 870 Mhz DDR
Attachment 2347

9-9-9-27-1T : 948 Mhz DDR
Attachment 2348

For absolute clarity : the base speed of the modules is 800Mhz at cas 8, and with a command rate of 2T. We only test our modules at a command rate of 1T, as this is the setting preferred by bios out of the box. A command rate of 1T has a clear performance advantage as well, but that's food for a different article.

It's a little early for comparative graphs with the other kits, we first want to test them all so we can give some accurate results. In other words, you'll have to wait for the article...
