Club3d FX5900 XT

Core: 390 Mhz
Mem: 700 Mhz

Priced around 200 €. How does it compare to a Radeon 9600 Pro ? And to the older, but very popular Geforce 4 Ti's ? (I'll be having a ti4400)

New King of the budget class?

More details soon.

yups tried removing it :) but after several tries I stopped :) didn't feel like destroying a 200 € card; Maybe next week :)

jakkerd 3rd January 2004 20:39

finnish this article first,

i needed a 'cheap' replacement for my geforce4 mx440
so this is probably a pretty good deal.

piotke 8th January 2004 19:55

that's correct. :)

Intronic 10th January 2004 21:25

The 5900XT is a good card for €200.
I was able to overclock it to 485/760, stock cooling.

well, the club3d version I have overclocks like ****. Barely 10 Mhz on the mems, and that's allready with artifacts.

Intronic 10th January 2004 21:29

Then ya just have a crappy card, RMA it ;)

piotke 10th January 2004 21:31

wel, club3d always has weake rmemory chips. But the card works perfectly on stock speeds duh :)

Intronic 10th January 2004 21:34

Hehe, but running something @ stock speeds sucks.. ;)

piotke 10th January 2004 21:34

p4 @ 3.4 Ghz, card not tweaked, nor overclocked , 17k 3d marks is not bad for a "budget" card.

jakkerd 13th January 2004 16:11

just arrived today,
cooling isn't quite the same

piotke 13th January 2004 17:01

mine looks bettre ;-)

jakkerd 13th January 2004 17:32

your gpu cooler looks mor performant too :s

piotke 13th January 2004 17:48

how does your memory overclock?

jakkerd 14th January 2004 22:47

780MHz is comepletely f**ked up
770MHz seems to run perfect (5 3dmark loops)
maybe a few MHz more, but not much

187(V)URD@ 15th January 2004 00:59

can it be flashed into a 5950ultra ?

p.s : where did you get it from piotke ?

RichBa5tard 15th January 2004 01:06

"budget card" is not really applicable in my humble opinion, it still costs 220 ~ 230 euro's (including shipping) in Belgium.

Budget cards are supposed to be 50 ~ 100 euro, most of my (gaming) friends don't want to spend more than 75 euro on a new grafic card.

It seems like a sweet card, but given my 7 months old R9800 (which costed 50 euro more than your FX5900XT) is a more futureproof card, i wouldn't call the FX5900 XT a steal. Still a nice choice if you want to stick to nvidia. ; )

piotke 16th January 2004 11:01

wel, if you at it like that...

but it is half the price of a top card, and performance is +- 25% lower ...
