7600GT as best buy ?

You should really check out the 7300GT GDDR3 cards, in sli they should outperform the 7600GT.

Above all, it's cheaper ;)

two 7300GT cheaper then 7600GT? you're forgetting about SLI motherboard for Core 2 which doesn't come cheap and only supports DDR2.

Yeah, I'm only talking about the vga's here ;)

Alternate.de:

Grafikkarten NVIDIA PCIe
GF7300GT Sonic (ArtNr: JAXHNQ)
GF7300GT Sonic (256 MB GDDR3)
€ 84,-*
€ 168,-*

Normally a x2 should be enough for the 7300gt's, although core 2 will give it a huge boost.

sure you can build a very very cheap office system right now with some onboard VGA and a S775 P4 for less than half of what you would spend on the "budget system building guide". it will last you a few years to come too.

but I think the problem is that those people who would be interested in those very very cheap system, don't know how to build one, don't know that there are guides out there which explain them how, and thus they will trust their local shop/friend/family and buy a cheap dell

I don't see where you're going right now ... :wtf:

Of course you can always build cheaper and cheaper systems. But that's not really the intention.

Let me put it this way: if you have a motherboard without the SLI/CF feature, go for a single 7600GT, but if you dó have a SLI/CF motherboard, a 7300GT ddr3 sli solution is more useful, as well as for the performance as for the price.

not cheaper dude; you can't beat the value/performance of the 7600GT

€144: http://www.alternate.de/html/product...l?artno=JAXHNA

2x7300GT is more expensive; not all games react good to SLI; you are stuck with your choice of GFX (if you already buy 7300GT... if you upgrade... you need to get rid of both) it takes up more room, less pratical, and in general, unless you are buying the highest end in SLI/CF, it's bad value :)

you are free to prove me wrong ;)

I'll take that literally ;)

Tomorrow, my dfi sli-dr arrives and I'll test my two 7300gt's right away.

€144 <-> €84x2=€168 : 24 euro difference. I guess the difference in fps will be a lot for 24 euro :)
