no really? this article aims at showing the difference in raw CPU power. Sorry if this comes over as aggressive RuB87 but you are really offtopic here. I know I can get +220Mhz FSB on this KR7A Abit, but there is no NEED to show this in the article. I already pointed out that by just increasing the FSB you can get a nice improvement in performance. |
ahh k put me also in the list plz:( |
:) http://www.madshrimps.be/forums/show...&threadid=1514 add it in a reply, RichBastard will do the necessairy welcome aboard btw :hello: not all welcomes are as warm as I wished, but hey it's good you don't run away from a small discussion  :rod: |
Yo Jmke, Nice article on the Xp1700+, Unfortunatly I allready bought a Xp2400+ but if I can believe the information I got from this site my processor is a XP2700+ So can you tell me how to unlock it in the easiest way, this is the first time that I am going to unlock a processor so I'm a bit concerned. Information I got is below Athlon XP Processor High-end Core Thoroughbred-B CPU Model 8 Performance Rating 2400+ Working frequency 2000 MHz Package Type OPGA Operating Voltage 1.65 V Max Die Temperature 85° C L1 Cache Size 128 KB L2 Cache Size 256 KB Multiplier 15x FSB Frequency 266 MHz Stepping Code AIUHB Manufacture Year 2002 Manufacture Week 48 Production Batch F Batch Production Number 0264 Downgraded from 2700+ |
in a recent motherboard these TbredB chips come unlocked already :) |
Yo, Bad luck then I guess I have a Leadtek K7ncr18dPro motherboard with no multiplier options (overclocking is not necesary) and I thought that when I unlocked the downgraded xp2700+ it would show automatic Xp2700+ in the bios instead of xp2400+ as it does now. |
nope :) you need a motherboard capable of changing the multiplier :) too much hassle soldering/cutting bridges otherwise |
Any good suggestions for such motherboard, the cheaper the better. |
any KT266A/KT333 motherboard will do you can find an Abit KX7 with raid for ~60€ |
I'm going to buy myself an awesome 2400+ (most likely AIUHB) and I'm wondering if it would also be auto-unlocked on MY mobo. I have a rather old chipset, but a relative new revision: MSI K7T Turbo2 - kt133a - supports max cpu: 2600+/266 (!!!) My question: are all the L1 bridges factory-connected, giving me the chance to change to mp in the bios without any physical modification of the cpu ? /mod: offtopic: 43 to 44°C stressed, luv those warm days while mom is leaving the central heating off. =) |
