Indeed, lots of electronic shops have 'm ... as well as 2-pins connectors et cetera If you want to locate a good one in your neighbourhood : www.velleman.be |
nice review. One comment : I would rather put a thick paper or some alu paper between the blade and the PCB. That is much safer than disassembling the fan ( and much quicker :) ) |
my friend just followed the guide and added an extra cable to my fan (Papst NGM), the connector for on the mobo came from a Coolermaster casefan wich has standard RPM monitoring, but I wanted the Papst because it's more silent. We followed the guide & the result was that the fan works but Speedfan or my BIOS don't show any RPM. Any idea what we could have done wrong? |
The Author of the article is absent for the moment, he went to the vet ;) , but I'm sure he'll look into it as soon as he returns |
same here on my fanbus, the RPM controller doesn't work even is the fan is running @12V wire is soldered correctly, but it just doesn't work :/ |
@Mercenary: which mobo are you using? i think you've got a "not mentioned case" on your hand here... as said in the article, untill now i have only tested this method on my former MSI ... @TeuS: which fanbus/fan? |

any kind of fan: coolermaster fan, delta fan, ... strange... with that antec blue (12v/ground to PSU, RPM to mobo) it worked fine afaik |
well - again, i refer to my article ... didn't try out any other kind of fan either ... |
