a badly writing script on one of the hosted websites that gets stuck into a loop and causes the mysql server to be flooded with requests in such a way that in becomes impossible to generate the outputs in a timely fashion, thereby slowing down to a crawl and affecting all the sites that use that mysql server

Bosw8er 19th April 2003 11:55

How do you find the site that has the badly written script ?

Looks like finding a needle in a haystack.

jmke 19th April 2003 11:56

every site has its username/password to login to the mysql server
you can check what user is using the most resources :)

that's why we are on a dedicated server now
