[M] Asus Silent Square CPU Cooler GiveAway

The Asus Silent Square impressed us here at Madshrimps with its excellent performance/noise balance, keeping our test CPU running cool. With the help of Asus we are able to give you the chance to install this high end heatsink in your system.

<center><img src=http://www.madshrimps.be/articles/AsusSilentSquareCPUCoolerReview-jmke-14005.jpg></center>

What do you need to do to make a chance? Post a picture, in this thread, of your current CPU cooler installed in your system; describe your system setup, and why you think the Silent Square should be yours. Share us some details on your current CPU temps and overclocking adventurous (if you have any).

The Silent Square fits on AMD S939/S754 and Intel S775, we'll send out the Sē free of charge to the participant who's most in need of a CPU Cooling upgrade.

this contest runs until 27th October 17:00 GMT+1

Why i need a decent heatsink lmfao

Thats a thermaltake silentboost under there... it NEEDS cold air from that duct to keep me under like 50 degrees 0_0 and now that its winter, and im in Canada, we need the furnace on and theres a damn duct in front of my computer 0_0 so when its on i spike up to around 45 0_0

so you can see its not so much a matter of want as it is need and i decided id try my luck :P i regret buying this 30 dollar paper weight <_< its a piece of crap as soon as the temperature of ym room goes up... <_<

i used to be able to overclock to 2.6 stable... hell, i could go to 2.7... but now i cant make 2.4 stable <_< ive reseated, reapplied the AS5... many things... this damn thing SUCKS <_<

temperatures with a fan blowing cool air towards the side panel fin blowing into the duct are fine... but the case gets dusty... and i freeze to death :P (im in the basement :P so its cool anywhere but under the vent... and i have no room to move my computer somewhere else as im using all the electrical outlets  I know, story of my life :P )

[edit] god i can draw the trouble with this thing on forever lmfao...

Also earned myself 4.9 foodstamps out of 5 in the post your ghetto mods thread on [H]ard|OCP Forums :P ive got a pic of the duct too but its not much lmfao, 3 sides cardboard, one side anti static bag ( so it can flex when i take off my side panel :P plus i can look inside :P )

cardboard mods make my day, they're dirt cheap and quite effective. So far you've got the winning entry ;) 11 days left.

mmmm, I would have been tempted to join, but after 3 months, still fighting to get my E6600 with it's boxed cooler, so no picture to show ^^

GL to the participants I guess :D

Id definetly check your airflow and your thermal paste application :P Thats a REALLY bad temp for that cooler... my friends X2 4200+ @ 2.6 and 1.45V is mid 40's load...

Sorry for bogging the thread :P

Im considering a "Phase 2" ... rerouting the heating duct :D

That's with all the case fans turned down to minimum, else I can hear it from outside of my room.

...I am unable sleep in complete silence anymore...

I feel bad discounting people but still.. if it can fix there problems i might as well :P

as with the other person i tried helping, check your TIM or thermal paste application. the 3200+ AM2 is a 62w part so that heatsink should be VERY capable... unless oyur overclocking which im assumignyou havent as you didnt mention it :P

Hope it helps :)

Also, dude with hyper 6+, if your fans are making that much noise, try dusting them. dust might be caught in the bearings :P and check your TIM/paste as well 0_0 55 is REALLY high with that cooler 0_0 airflow shouldnt be bad as your in a lian li :S oh wait your room temperature is 28 0_0 holy hell turn on the AC :P
