ZAGG acquires Mophie for $100 million
 

Mobile accessory giant ZAGG, the company that makes the well-known InvisibleShield, has recently acquired Mophie, another accessory giant, for $100 million.

The new ZAGG-Mophie mega combination now puts the company in a much higher position across four mobile market categories – battery cases, external batteries, screen protection, and tablet keyboards. The new merger also boasts combined 2015 net sales of approximately $470 million and is expected to enhance long-term enterprise value through strengthened product development, according to Tuesday's press release.

The acquisition also comes at a time when Apple has finally launched its own smartphone battery case – the 1,877mAh iPhone 6S Smart Battery Case – for $99.
