Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro officially launched At an event held in India Xiaomi has now officially unveiled its new Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphones at the event in India, with the first one being a rebrand Redmi 5 Plus while the latter is a completely new device powered by Snapdragon 636 SoC. Priced at INR 9,999 (US $155/€125), the Redmi Note 5 might seem like familiar devices and it does not come as a surprise as this is basically a rebranded Redmi 5 Plus for India. It has a 5.99-inch 18:9 aspect ratio IPS screen with 2160x1080 resolution covered by a 2.5D glass. It is powered by Qualcomm's well known Snapdragon 625 SoC with octa-core Cortex-A53 2.0GHz clocked CPU cores and Adreno 506 GPU. It comes with 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB RAM and storage configurations, features 12-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and runs on Android 7.1.2 OS with MIUI 9 on top of it.
