Default XGI Addresses Specialized Markets with New 2D Graphics Chip

XGI Technology, a graphics chip designer and producer of graphics cards, announced on Tuesday its new Volari Z7 graphics processor that is positioned to serve “specialized markets”, but not in typical personal computers that are shipped in volume.

Volari Z7 is a tailor made GPU for the server, thin client, and other specialized markets; the flexible design along with many product advantages allows XGI to fulfill its diverse product line. The Volari Z7 does not support any 3D capabilities, such as Direct3D, just like graphics cards like ATI RADEON 7000.

“Volari Z7 is unique because it is tailor-made for a specialized market and flexible to support DDR/DDR2/GDDR3. This design’s elasticity allows better accommodations to our client’s needs and extends their product life cycles. Furthermore, we continue our commitment to the full system test and the very best software support.” said Po-Han Lin, Senior Product Marketing Manager of XGI.
