World in Conflict - Open beta performance analysis The fact that this title currently holds a place on our 'most anticipated games in 2007' poll should tell you pretty much all you need to know about World in Conflict - Massive Entertainment's realitime strategy title is one that is having a close eye kept on it by both gamers and pixel whores like myself alike. The possibilities of the game's Cold War gone crazy scenario, putting you in charge of a United States army desperately trying to defend its homeland from a full-scale Soviet invasion, are more than a little mouth-watering, and offer an exciting change of military pace from all those World War II-based titles such as Company of Heroes. Meanwhile the games graphical capabilities, including DirectX 10 rendering functionality, makes for both an impressive looking and strenuous visual experience for even the most capable GPUs currently available. http://www.elitebastards.com/cms/ind...32&Item id=29 |

Still gets creamed by the 8800GTS if you consider the prices and at higher resolutions, it only gets worse. The performance hit of DX10 seems smaller this time, which makes me wonder what the differences are (DX10 faster my *** mickeysoft). |
uhm, the performance hit with DX10 is stellar, under DX9 the HD 2900 XT is sligtly behind the 8800 GTS 640mb, under DX 10 it's behind the 8600 GTS! (8 6 00 ) |
that might be due to other factors like drivers, I was looking at the results of the 8800 and 8600GTS |
