I am lost for words that MS did something that smart.

OCZ have added this in the latest firmware for the Vertex.

Improved storage performance will be the prime reason why I'll (eventually) move to Win7.
SSDs (the 32GBs ones at least) have become reasonably and I want to rip the benefits of a Vertex running at its full potential.

They added what? The firmware can't block the OS from attempting to defrag the drive AFAIK, it has to begin with OS support.

I can't wait for the new ATA commands to be released, including TRIM... Am waiting until Intel release their next generation of SSDs the end of this year before hopping onto the bandwagon. :)

Me too but only if they'll make an affordable small (32GB) SSD, which is also a high performer.
SSDs are still too expensive for large storage. They're great for OS drives though.

That's great to hear, any idea of Intel's drives have it yet?

Best PC investment I have made in a long time are my 2 30gb Vertex drives. They are crazy fast in raid0.
