Water & Air cooling misconceptions

* Does aluminium dissipate better heat in the air than copper?
* In which direction to put the elements? If I put the radiator before the waterbloc I will damage my pump?
* Does the flow in a waterblock have to be low to store the heat released by the core of the processor?
* If I put 15 water L instead of 1 L in my circuit I would have better temperatures?
* To cool is a CPU in liability possible?
* The radiator that I will buy thus dissipate 400 W it is well?

Is passive cooling of a CPU liable... ;)

Like in an electric circuit, where voltage and current often fluctuate, well, in a watercircuit, pressure and flow vary too... Some types of waterblocks require you use a series or parallel circuit, and need the blocks to be put into a certain order to keep the circuit performing. But putting a radiator before a waterblock doesn't harm the pump. water doesn't heat up enough in a watercooling circuit to damage a pump.

* Does the flow in a waterblock have to be low to store the heat released by the core of the processor?
No, how higher the flow, how better the cooling, and that's for all types of waterblocks... But low-flow waterblocks need so much pressure to get a high flow, that we use low-flow high(er)-pressure pumps for low-flow blocks, the loss in flow will be reduced. with hi-flow low(er)-pressure pumps, the low-flow blocks resists more and finally, you lose soo much flow, that you can even have less flow then when using a low-flow high pressure pump.[/color]

* If I put 15 water L instead of 1 L in my circuit I would have better temperatures?
That depends on the duration, 15l of water has a bigger thermal inertia then 1l, thus, it will heat less quickly, but it will keep the heat for longer.

* To cool is a CPU in liability possible?
Passive watercooling a CPU is liable, my brother has no more crashes since we replaced the bad aircooler with an EC900 setup. Cos the aircooling had no other vent giving it more airflow (only 3 fans in his case: CPU, GPU and PSU... with the EC900, this lack of ventilation has not such an impact anymore

* The radiator that I will buy thus dissipate 400 W it is well?
You can use almost every radiator, as the thermal dissipation depends of the difference between air- and watertemperature.

OK, BIG correction to be made, I've been telling crap all the way, I'm sorry about that...

i corrected it, with, I hope, the right answers, and I apologize, I'll take more time next time to analyze the knowledge I acquire, as there seems to be loads of crap around the net...

Sorry for the inconvenience.

thanks for the corrections, but most questions were already answered in the article, you know :)

I know, but I don't like telling crap, when the opposite is said in the article this topic is about. Well, I don't liek to telling crap in the first place :grum:

I feel I owed to to everyone, me included. Lying to myself and to other people isn't funny. I made a mistake, I repair the 'damage'... Noone is responsible but me.

But I'm happy you pardonned me my mistakes... :hello:
