W10: Analyst Believes W7 Users Will Have to Pay to Upgrade
 

Interesting article in the Seattle Times concerning the pricing structure of Windows 10 upon its release. You have to remember that this is all wink and nudge speculation until the announcement is made on January 21st. Subscription service? Free upgrade to Windows 8/8.1 owners? Windows 7 users not free, but discounted? No one knows for sure at this point, but Microsoft only has one chance to get this one right to put Windows 8 in the rear view mirror. Windows 7 users will probably have to pay to upgrade per Moskowitz, since they make up the largest chunk of the Windows user base, and Microsoft may not want to give up one of its main revenue streams.
