VisionTek moves to plastic packaging for its 9800 Pro product series.

INVERNESS, Ill., May 2, 2003 - - VisionTek, a division of Hartford Computer Group and a leading supplier of advanced PC graphics cards and memory solutions, today released images of their XTASY 9800 PRO product package and shared some insights into their leap to a plastic box.

"The rest of the peripheral world has been shipping their products shrouded in cardboard since the dawn of retail," remarked Michael Innes, director of sales and marketing for VisionTek. "We wanted to break from tradition and bring something that looks better on the shelf, that let's consumers actually see what they are buying, and that also reinforces our commitment to having the most innovative products."

VisionTek moved to a reduced package size in response to retailers' requests for a smaller product footprint. "We wanted to help our retailers, but we didn't want to lose impact with consumers, and the sharp visual presentation available from a plastic package let us accomplish both goals," added Innes.

The XTASY 9800 PRO delivers the fastest and most visually advanced performance of any graphics processor. It features ATI's RADEON 9800 PRO Visual Processor, 128MB of high speed DDR memory, a fast-and-wide tm 256-bit memory interface, full Microsoft DirectX® 9 support and an 8-pixel pipeline to deliver real-time Hollywood style graphics and a gaming experience that surpasses all others.
