Default Unit Shipments, Revenues Down for Add-In Graphics Cards in Q4 2006

Despite of loud talks about high-performance GeForce and Radeon graphics cards by their respective developers, the market of add-in graphics adapters was down both sequentially and annually in the fourth quarter of 2006. Even though there are logical explanations concerning the sales slash, the market of add-in-cards still seems to have hard times.

it would be interesting if Vista sales pick up once midrange DX10 cards come on the market and if their sales goes up as well as I think many people are holding out their upgrades for those

Yeah, that is the first thing that comes to mind to me as well.

However, I can say I've already run across two people that just bought another 7900 card for G79 SLI, thinking it was a better deal + better performance than waiting for any DX10 part current or future. So I'm trying to learn to not assume anything when it comes to people...

SLI is never a budget wise path to take

as it stands now , Vista offers no benefits for XP users, no need to upgrade.

Vista is easier to use in my opinion. Has a more natural interface & placement of options/features than XP offered compared to when I first migrated from 98se to XP. Breadcrumbs alone saves me a good deal of time...

Completely agree about SLI not being economical, but said persons had "read" plenty of reviews and went their own way despite advice to the contrary. Gotta love that...
