Must have decent 0 fan chipset cooler! DFI wasn't bought for looks, most of the time it was to clock the snot out of the CPU CPU socket with enough clearance for bigass heatsinks For the sake of performance: No more IDE and Floppy connectors (SATA DVD-RW and boot rom for the RAID), no firewire, only 4 SATA 300 headers. Old stuff needs to die and 99% of all users don't have more than 4 drives. Maybe kill PCI too. also, supplying a lot of cables 80% of the people don't need is not cool for the environment :/ sending a mail :) |
I wouldn't buy a motherboard without IDE/Floppy/FireWire/SATA connections:) or without network/sound onboard either. it's just too easy to have it all in one to go back to 1001 plug-in cards |
I wonder how many % Mr. Wu could get out of a motherboard if he didn't have to put that stuff in. |
I rather have more functionality then 1% performance increase:) |
I like my old 200 GB Seagate IDE HD so I would also rather at least one IDE slot. |
and lets not forget that most motherboards overclock further with IDE HDD compared to SATA HDD ;) |
The only thing I want and that hasn't been done yet is a bios where I can set the exact memory clock completely independant from deviders and such stuff. Overclocking the RAM would be like overclocking your vga card. It would not give a big boost, but it is just so u can atleast say "I got the best out of everything". |
