Ubuntu Edge pricing drops to $625 minimum on Indiegogo After all 5,000 Ubuntu Edge smartphones sold out on their lowest $600 Indiegogo pricing tier, Canonical has added three new lower pledge levels. Initially, those who missed out on the one-day-only offer would've needed to cough up $830, but there are now $625, $675 and $725 rungs prior to that price, each with 1,250 of the linux-coated handsets available. Meanwhile, the counter at the original $830 second level -- which had already been in the hundreds -- has been reset, with Canonical promising it would "refund the difference at the end of the campaign so you won't lose out." That presumably means it's moved those buyers to a lower tier, but it promised to contact them directly with more information. We're not sure if a slowdown in pledges on the $32 million campaign provoked the move, but we've reached out to Canonical for more information. http://www.engadget.com/2013/07/24/u... ign=Engadget |
