The Topower PowerBird series first impressed us back in October of last year and today the 800W member of the PowerBird family delivered for us in almost every way we could ask of it. The 800W PowerBird had excellent voltage regulation on the minor rails, very good voltage regulation on the 12v rails, very good DC output quality, and it was reasonably quiet for an 800W unit. The only down side we found with this unit today was the changing of the previous Toshin secondary capacitors to unknown Chinese Hermei branded capacitors which makes us a bit nervous. However, in spite of this change the 800W PowerBird did well enough in our tests today to produce one of the best performances found among 750w-850w units we have seen. If this unit comes to market with a price point in line with the myriad of CWT PSH based units on the market it could present a real challenge to those units, as it did many things as well or better than those units, and provide very good option for users looking for a solid 800W unit.
