Thermaltake Soprano RS 101 Case Review

Thermaltake's Soprano RS 101 is a solidly built entry-level mid-tower chassis with sophisticated styling and plenty of features. The beautiful glossy finish does attract some finger prints, but they can be wiped clean easily enough. The tool-less PCI slots and drive bays made installation quick and were simple to use. The spacious side window boasted the ability to replace the CPU duct with up to a 120mm fan, and the user could add another fan to the VGA vent for even more cooling power. The built-in fan filter behind the front bezel is a nice feature not often found in cases of this price point.

The drawbacks to the Soprano RS 101 are the same ones that other cases in the same class are often plagued with: non-removable motherboard tray, restrictive stamped fan grills and little included extras like PCI plates. This is a trade-off between providing the rich style and finish of the case while trying to keep the costs down. Overall the Thermaltake Soprano RS 101 is an excellent case for its price range. For users that enjoy the style of the more expensive Soprano cases but lack to budget for them, the Soprano RS 101 is sure to please.
