Thermalright V1 - An XP-90 For Your Video Card?
 

Anybody that reads the reviews here at Systemcooling knows that we like Thermalright heatsinks, and over the last few years, they have reigned almost exclusively as king of the hill in CPU cooling power. Unlike many other cooling companies though, Thermalright has stuck pretty much to cooling only CPU's. That fact has been a matter of some lament, as there are many of us who wish we had the power of Thermalright to cool other areas of our system, especially video cards. Well, we don't have to wait any more. Today, we're taking an exclusive look at Thermalright's entry into the GPU cooling world, the V1. Cut from same cloth as their newest heatsinks, the XP series, the V1 could be just what the video-cooling geeks dream of - an XP-90 for their GPU.

Killer cooler :grin: . If it's not to expensiv I might consider using it passivly on my R9600Pro :ws: .
For those with a NV6800, the memory chips might be cooled with those flattend zalman heatsinks. (except the top ones)

while the attempts of Zalman and Jetart where futile due to the fans used, this one works due to fan size

Are no heatsinks on the ram something to be concerned about? If they didn't need to be cooled why does Nvidia even bother covering them with the stock heatsink?

Is the advantage of the NV5, drawing hot air out of the case, to be considered?

On the other hand 9C is quite a difference!

The V1 is the first product I consider a competiton for AC. The products from JetArt and Zalman where rather mediocre due to the crappy fans used.

My case is very well ventilated and I'd like to keep it that way.

On the other hand 9 Celsious lower GPU temp is no little thing to consider.

However, the NV5 cools the ram which the V1 doesn't.

Will ram heatsinks suffice in this case?
