Synology today announced select models of its Plus series NAS server achieve the status of VMware vSphere 5 ready with full support for vStorage APIs for Array Integration (VAAI). By incorporating the cutting-edge VAAI technologies into the Plus series, Synology carves out an affordable storage solution for VMware virtual servers.

Synology supports VAAI primitives that include Hardware Assisted Locking (ATS), Block Zero, Full Copy, and Thin Provisioning.
