![]() | ![]() Back in 1996, Nintendo released Super Mario 64 as a launch title for their flagship, the Nintendo 64 console. The game was met with rave reviews and is credited for revolutionizing the platforming genre. So, when Nintendo released Super Mario 64 DS as a launch title for the Nintendo DS, it was expected to make a big splash for the handheld gaming market. While there have been many new Mario games released for Nintendo\'s handheld systems, this is the first one to be in 3D and is also Mario\'s platform debut on Nintendo\'s new and highly touted handheld. The game has been updated and slightly changed with features that have never been used before. Even the game experience has changed from the original N64 version.
