Spectre and Meltdown patch freezes AMD machines
 

Another Spectre victory

Microsoft has stalled issuing Spectre and Meltdown patches to the owners of some AMD machines following the news that some systems were freezing and refusing to boot.



Vole is blaming AMD's failure to comply with "the documentation previously provided to Microsoft to develop the Windows operating system mitigations to protect against the chipset vulnerabilities known as Spectre and Meltdown."

In an update to the Microsoft Support article relating to the patches, the company says:
