| A Simple Comparison : X1900 XT Crossfire vs. 7800 GTX 512 SLI While Multi-GPU technology was once considered lavish and un-necessary for all but the most extreme gaming situations, the technology is quickly drifting down to very tolerable levels, as multi-GPU ready motherboards and graphics cards can be found at nearly any price point. While top of the line SLI/Crossfire configurations can run between $1,500 and $2,000, entry level multi-GPU configurations can go down to levels as low as $300, including two graphics card and a multi-GPU compatible motherboard. Nevertheless, the configurations we’ve looked at today are lavish and un-necessary for 99% of gamers worldwide. However, for those who want the best, these both of these solutions are out there, available for purchase in volume.
