SilverStone SG01B MicroATX Case

We like small form factor PCs, and we've certainly written our share of reviews of those tiny, oblong PCs made famous by Shuttle and copied by a host of manufacturers. Sometimes the tiny, proprietary PCs like Shuttle's XPC line are too small though. If you need additional expansion capabilities, or want a more standard form factor, you often need to with something larger.

However, larger doesn't necessarily mean "behemoth," as in the Thermaltake Tai-Chi we reviewed recently. Sometimes you just want something relatively compact, such as a good microATX case. We've reviewed smaller cases in the past, like the Aspire X-Qpack we reviewed as a part of a Pentium-M system we built. The Aspire was flawed because it used a proprietary power supply, and that supply is a pre-ATX 2.1 unit that won't play well with current generation motherboards. Today, though, we take a close look at a modern microATX case that's designed to work with standard power supplies, the SilverStone SG01B.
