Should Notebooks Come With Higher Quality Built-In Cameras?

Should Notebooks Come With Higher Quality Built-In Cameras? Definitely yes!The problem is that lots of people still think that the only parameter to measure camera quality is the resolution (number of megapixels), which is not the best way to compare cameras.

Taking pics and filming with your laptop ? I wonder if he ever tried that ...
You've got to use things what they're designed for ... a laptop is not a camera so don't nag if it doesn't behave like one.

I wonder how many people actually use the camera at all.

ideal for video conference, quick video chat with family/friends

Rutar 26th January 2009 22:55

But how many actually use it for that?

well, it's there if you want it, and it doesn't cost a whole lot, and if I see laptop with and one without at similar price, the most feature-rich will get the nod;

how many use infrared, bluetooth, media card reader, touchpad AND stick, etc

I hardly use any features on my laptop, but I'm glad they're available when I need them and that's exactly why built-in stuff shouldn't be expensive, it's not worth the price.
For webcam, 0.3MP@15fps is more than enough for webconference, most apps don't send more than that.
