Default Samsung unveils the 1.5TB/2TB EcoGreen F3EG hard drives

Samsung has today revealed the newest additions to its EcoGreen product line-up, the F3EG 1.5TB and 2TB 3.5-inch hard drives. These fresh, and Earth-friendly spinners boast three or four 500GB platters depending on capacity, a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, a working speed of 5400 RPM, 16MB/32MB of cache memory, the SilentSeek and NoiseGuard functions that reduce sound output, and the EcoTriangle technology which enables them to consume 40% less power in idle mode and 10% less when reading/writing than competing drives.
