Samsung intros faster SSD, sheds light on future technologies At its event in Korea, Samsung just introduced the new 840 EVO series of SSDs. It's set to replace existing 840 SSDs, will have capacities of up to 1 TB and will be capable of much higher write speeds. Aside from introducing a new product series, Samsung also shared its vision on the future of SSDs. Serial ATA will be replaced by PCI-Express as primary interface, and the software controller AHCI will be replaced by NVM Express.
