Samsung to deliver only 85% of promised NAND flash to "its major customers"

Remember that Seoul power outage which took down six chip production lines for the world's largest flash memory producer, Samsung? Well, those predictions of NAND flash memory shortages appear to be ringing true. If statements from PQI's general manager, Jance Lu are to be believed, then Samsung will be fulfilling only 85% of their promised NAND flash deliveries to "its major customers" in the second half of August.

Ouch!

Can't apprehend it until you have been to Seoul. Samsung plant is larger than many cities; it runs everything independently within.

"Apprehend" is for criminals, I think ya mean "comprehend"? :)

That does explain how a outage could adversely affect them so badly. If the plant is that large, it'd be to costly to try and use backUPS and generators for except for only the most critical portions of operations. I wonder if they're going to hire a few of their own electricians just to proactively monitor their local power grid from now on.

No sh*t:)
I'd better correct it:D

Done with another review coming right back.
Apprehend also means grasping the understanding, same difference as comprehend. Too quick to admit fault may be better than the other way around :naughty:

Hmm, I've never heard it used in the meaning before but you are indeed correct. Will have to remember that one. :)
