 |  Rumor: Tonga GPU to power Radeon R9 285 New details have surfaced about AMD's rumored Tonga GPU. According to SweClockers, the chip is going to power a new, higher-end member of the Radeon R9 280 series—and AMD is planning the launch for "late August to early September." The tip comes from "Taiwanese sources," who also told SweClockers that Tonga will come in two flavors, both with a 256-bit path to 2GB of GDDR5 memory.
