RED releases Hydrogen 4-View

RED, which normally makes high-end $10,000+ cameras, is launching a $1,195 smartphone called the RED Hydrogen One.

Some of the features include a 5.7-inch "Hydrogen holographic display" capable of viewing holographic RED Hydrogen 4-View content, 3D content, and 2D/3D virtual-reality and augmented-reality content, a built-in H3O algorithm that can convert stereo sound into multi-dimensional audio, and support for modular components.

While RED is refusing to talk about the usual stuff we get in phone press releases, like the processor, camera resolution, RAM, or battery size it is talking a little about its sound and vision capabilities. The screen apparently features nanotechnology that seamlessly switches between traditional 2D content, holographic multi-view content, 3D content and interactive games.

You can view traditional 2D content normally at the full-screen resolution and holographic RED Hydrogen 4 View content (H4V). There is stereo 3D content
